Agreed Chris.

I have a few fast wintel machines sitting around, but the B&W is my favorite machine by far. Added a G4 processor, maxed the ram, increased the disk space and added a dvd burner. (Installed 10.4.4 last night) Bruce has handled everything I've thrown at him. (Yeah... Bruce. He has an Ash action figure standing on top.) I also have a stock 350 B&W and a third machine for parts. Yeah... I like them! :->

Don't get me wrong... I'd love to have one of the new 20" iMacs sitting on my desk, but do I really =need= one!? Anyway, with a big LCD display connected to Bruce, I can kind of pretend for a while! ;)

I'm running 10.4.4 on my B&W G3 and frankly I must say that I'm super impressed. It's stable, reasonably fast and just gets on with the job.

I have the 450mhz version coupled with a new (to the b&w at least 7200 rpm 40g drive), the computer runs with 320 meg of ram currently which seems to be just fine for email and web surfing - that said I have a friend who is giving me 2x128 meg of ram to take me to 512 total.

My overall point is - do it if you use the machine for basic web/ email/general usage- the B&W G3 is a very capable machine for your needs.
