(installing the Hard Drive and the additional memory was a snap).
The thing about it is - If I installed WinXP and SP2 on a P2 or P3
with 256/320 mb of ram I doubt it would be playing itunes/reading a
website and running Mail as we speak....
The G4^ was pretty easy. Had to boot the system in OS 9 and run a
patch to remove the G4 blocking code. Shut down and swap CPUs. Only
problem I had was not getting the patch to run right the first two
times. But that was just me being not quite sure of what I was doing.
All is happiness now!
I usually have Safari, Mail and iTunes open all the time. Often with
Seti BOINC and Tomato Torrent running. Occasionally I pop in a dvd
movie and Bruce always seems up to the task.
I have a 17" LCD attached to ... hmm little bluey needs a name now
- I don't think i can match "Bruce" though. Ill have to think on it.
I was running an Apple 17" studio display crt, but got a killer deal
on a NEC 19" LCD... totally cool monitor.
Heh, names will come to you. I have Bruce and Bryce (The B&Ws),
Irving (iBook), Waldo (Powerbook-Wallstreet), George (Grape iMac),
Bernie and Osgood (The 6400/200 twins), Fred (7600/200) and Charlie
(7100/80). My Boys! ;)
