Hello, I'm trying to get a newly acquired G4 QuickSilver 867MHz machine to boot with a known-working hard drive running OS 10.3.9. It came w/o a hard drive. On power-up, it chimes and then boots to the gray screen with the apple and goes no further. I never see the little spinning "sundial" indicating any activity beyond this point. I've tried resetting the CUDA?? with no apparent change in the behavior described. I'm new to Macs, so please forgive any ignorance on my part for not trying other things that might be routine or obvious to many others on this list. It was suggested by a friend that I boot from the OS install CD and run diagnostics, but I can't figure out how to get the CD/DVD unit to eject. I've also checked out lots of Mac repair/troubleshooting web sites and still haven't found the answer to my particular problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
