I'm trying to get a newly acquired G4 QuickSilver 867MHz machine to

with the
apple and goes no further. I never see the little spinning "sundial"
indicating any activity beyond this point. I've tried resetting the
CUDA?? with no apparent change in the behavior described. I'm new to
Macs, so please forgive any ignorance on my part for not trying other
things that might be routine or obvious to many others on this
list. It
was suggested by a friend that I boot from the OS install CD and run
diagnostics, but I can't figure out how to get the CD/DVD unit to
eject.
Hold down the mouse button during startup to eject the CD. If you're
getting
to the apple logo then trying to boot from the OS and/or diagnostics
CD is
a reasonable first step.
Hope this helps,
