Do you happen to remember the seller? I'm asking because I had the same thing happen to me. After changing the jumpers in my B&W it would boot with the 450 zif, but go haywire once it got to the desktop. I even set the jumpers at 300 Mhz and it still did the same thing. Had many problems getting in touch with the seller and never did get my money back from him. I often wondered if perhaps this was a G4 chip instead of a G3 because at the time I had not updated the firmware to accept a G4 chip. I've since bought one from FastMac and it worked fine after I updated the firmware.
