The best resource to help you pick an ISP would be BroadBand Reports. Here's a link to their ISP Power Search tool: http://www.dslreports.com/psearch Even if you're only interested in (or eligible for) dialup service, BBR has information for that, too: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/dialup (there's a "find an ISP" tool for dialup ISPs on the left of your screen under "Forum Links.") Yes, do I understand that you might be having problems surfing right now from your home. If you need to, take a trip to the local library and (ab)use their high speed connection so you can navigate BBR without tearing your hair out. Picking an ISP is an important decision and it would be worth your while to put in some research time as you would with any important purchasing decision. BBR would prolly be a better resource for you to use than the G-List in terms of complete information. Also, it's of little use for list members to recommend their ISP of choice if there is no local Point of Presence for you to dial into (or Central Office to get Broadband service out of). LIkewise, BBR will have ISP reviews for your specific area and will tell you all about the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Personally, I can only hope that you're eligible for Broadband service. I fretted over the difference in cost for quite some time (believe me). However, in terms of getting things done, it pays for itself in a very short time. After all, you can always get more money, but you can't get more time in this life. Best, James Fraser -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
