Seriously - about using the old Sherlock - though: you can still use
it. I fired up Classic and chose my Sherlock 1 and found things with
it. It is lovely! You need to put the app in the applications folder
along with all your 9 stuff. At least that is how I have it. But I am
not recommending it because at some stage one needs to get used to
whatever is supported and developed as things move on...

Sherlock? I hated it, Sloooow, never worked for web finds etc. Tossed it out & kept the old "Find file"
from 9.1 or 9.0 or was it 8.x? Anyway, when in OS9, that is what I use.
In X? Spotlight (on my laptop, that is).
I hardly run Classic on my computers. X is fine on my laptop, and my desktop-G3 I either boot in 9 or X.
