We're going to have to disagree here. IMO, there is a BIG difference between dash and plus media. Plus media is far more reliable. I've got DVD-RW discs that are throwing errors after only a dozen rewrites. But my DVD+RW media are all solid after 100+ rewrites. (yes, for some bizarre reason I log/track disc usage). Some of the DVD-R discs I burned just a year ago are unreadable now. Zero failures of +R tho. (Various brands, not counting CompUSA, which were crap regardless of type). As for "compatible"... Many older drives can only read or burn one type or another - doesn't matter if it's a stand-alone DVD Player or Recorder (tv), Mac, PC, external, left handed, gold plated, or frog. Interestingly, my housemate's 1yro HP laptop cannot read any of the dash media we burn on our Macs, but it's fine with the plus media. It has no problem reading dash media burned on other PCs.
