The retail versions come on black disks. Beware of buying used Tiger disks which are grey in color and which are model specific. If you find a grey set, make sure it is for your parent's specific model iMac. Also, some of the very earliest versions of the iMac G4 800 MHz had a CD-RW optical drive which cannot read the Tiger DVD disks. Very few Tiger media are on CDs.
