Most corporations operate on a 3-4 year refresh cycle, particularly  
for things like servers. When they go out of warrantee, it's time to  
replace 'em, because the business losses associated with downtime  
VASTLY outweigh the costs of getting new equipment.

Secondly, businesses that made a significant investment on G5  
technology pretty much hung on until Adobe was Intel-compatible,  
meaning CS3, then they dumped their g5's for the vastly improved Mac  
Pros.

Don't forget...there's an enormous performance improvement between the  
PPC and the Intel generations.
