I agree with the general public here. My G4 Digital Audio 466, with
1.25 gb RAM now, runs smoothly on 10.4.11, but I wouldn’t want it to
get any slower.

The speed curve on PPCs went up until Tiger, but after that it went
down again, meaning that Tiger is faster than Panther, but Leopard is
slower than Tiger.

If you can give specific reasons why you would want to upgrade to
10.5, people can give more detailed advice, or alternative solutions
that work in 10.4. Speaking in general, I think 10.4.11 is the sweet
spot for your Mac.
