FWIW, since I wanted to move an AVI file from my MacBook to one of my desktop hard drives, I measured the transfer speeds of the old 1GB Verbatim flash drive I used to move the file. (Would that be circa 2005?? I don't remember when 1GB was the current "cheap" flash capacity).
