How do I check on the Smart status - I looked in the apple support library
and it doest say.

The issue I was having -when trying to open disk utility - the windows were
disappearing or freezing. I did try booting and running off disks and drive
genius 2 was kicking out on the extents map error.

Not quite sure what to do other than to wipe and reinstall - but we are in
the process of moving and don't know the location of the system disks right
now.

Wondering if backing up and reinstalling on an erased disk is ok or if I
should just reinstall clean.

Alternatively is there a way to just rebuild the catalog?

Erik
