As long as the specs are the same it's a non-issue. Just be sure that the new battery fits snugly in the holder. I just had the same experience with a new battery for my eMac. The new battery had a shorter + terminal than the old one. But it fit quite snugly so no worries! It's working fine now.

The +'ve terminal DOES, indeed, project farther than the -'ve terminal.


Sorry, I wasn't clear. The + terminal is taller on the battery I pulled out of the G4, than the spares I had on hand (from Yikes and below) and the ones I could buy from Radio Shack.

I know the + is taller than the - in general practice.  :)
