Verbatim USB drive (AC320GB) will not work when connected to my Targus USB hub. The hub is powered, and the power supply seems to be working. All other USB peripherals work fine when plugged into the hub, and the Verbatim drive works fine when plugged directly into a USB port on the computer. Could this be an indication that the drive is failing? Disk utility reports all is okay with it.

Explain "will not work" but yet you say Disk Utility says it's ok?

Does the drive work ok when it's plugged in directly?

Anything else plugged into that hub?

Try different cable(s).

Is the hub's p/s making any sort of humming or crackling sound? (both sounds are an indication of transformer degridation).

Check the system.log for error messages.
