Bruce, I know I'm very late to this party, but why not use -fs UDF? I tried this and got an error from hdiutil, but I was able to mount the image with Disk Utility and it shows up as a UDF disk image in CMD-I. Windows should be able to handle UDF properly, no? Error was: mount_udf: mount_udf: open /dev/disk3 failed, Resource busy: Resource busy /sbin/mount failed with error 256 However, the resulting image mounted properly as a UDF image.
