Does this mean bad RAM or problems with the logic board or processor?

From the sounds of it all of your RAM may be flaky or it's a bad logic board, BUT, you have not tried:

1) Run Applejack <http://applejack.sourceforge.net/> which also includes a handy memory test module that works well. This will tekll you pretty quickly if you have a flaky DIMM slot or bad ram.

2) Started in safe mode, eliminating most third-arty extensions and drivers.

3) Logged in as a different user, to eliminate userspace issues like corrupted caches and preferences.
