Can be the DIMM that is bad, but can also be the memory slot that is broken. Try each memory stick (DIMM) seperately in the slot you did the single 512 test with. You sould immediately see if one is faulty. If all pass, you've got a faulty memory slot. If that be the case, try only one memory module in every slot one by one to find out which one it is.
