It's really not open, as Bruce has learned. Double-clicking on the Mail divider 
bar to expand the list of Inbox e-mails and prevent any from opening may be a 
partial solution for you, but it's all I need to delete posts either marked by 
Mail as Junk or that have all the earmarks of spam without opening them. Neat 
feature, and it is one of the many reasons I haven't been a Windows user for 
years. Thanks, Apple!
