Hello again!

I was able to install Mac OS X Server 1.2 v3 on a Power Mac G4 AGP Graphics,
which is not surprising because it is on the HCL and thus it is supported
anyway.

I’m just mentioning it because a source mentions problems with the Apple Pro
keyboard, which I didn’t have. I had the Apple Pro Mouse connected to one USB
port on the keyboard and no other USB devices where used.

I’ll be having trouble to test a native installation on the Cube though,
because mine came with a broken CD drive, so I removed it. I tried using the
FireWire target disk mode before, but the Cube was unable to use the DVD drive
from my Power Mac G5 (original model), so I’m not sure how to test the
installation running from the Cube.

I will test the installation I did on the AGP Graphics in the Cube thou and
report back.

I had mentioned that the Cube is not able to boot Mac OS 9.0, because it
requires at least 9.0.4 or newer. The BIG problem is that the Mac OS X Server
1.2v3 disc – at least the one I have – boots into 9.0 for installation. So
this is why it cannot work that way.

It may be possible to install 9.0.4 or 9.1 (whichever came with your Cube;
lucky if you still have the discs…) and start the installation program on the
Mac OS X Server 1.2v3 disc from there.

Mind the tips from there:

So far so good, hope someone will be successful with this procedure.

Cheers,
