First of all, the Quicksilver had an AGP video card, not PCI. There
were also two generations of the Quicksilver, made in 2001 and
2002--but both should have the same universal AGP 4x slot (brown with
green retainer clip). Just in case, have a look at the slot and make
sure it has the correct keying for the card. The 2001 Quicksilver I
have has a universal slot, with no keying but other models might have
a keyed slot.

I just tried removing and reinserting the card in my Quicksilver; I
had no problems... You should only have to move the tab a little bit,
the top should be slanted to deflect around the tab in the card. Also
make sure you're not catching on anything, sometimes the end with the
ports doesn't fit in the hole quite right.
