Hi Shaun,
While I don't think David Greenwood is on this list, he has his own list and
I read most of the messages from this list, and if they are something I
think he needs to know, I will forward him the message.
The latest version of the GMA game engine has the ability of taking a text
file map of a level and importing it into the game, although this function
can only be done by a game developer with a special security code.
So this means that anyone using the create map hot key, which in Shades of
doom is control w
can then modify this map in their word processor and send it to the game
developer, who in this case is David who can then import the revised map
into the game as a new level or a modified existing level.
Of course you would need to explore or visit the entire level to generate a
complete map of the level first.

David did not create the GMA game engine to be available to the public to
modify the games as you suggested and access to the engine does not give you
access to every game since each game has its own security code which would
give you the ability to modify it.

Sincerely,
Phil Vlasak
