---- Hi all I got this idea in my mind when I read the trek 2000 documentation and played the demo. For those of us like me, who battle with strategy board games like trek 2000, how about an arcade game that works on the same principle as dark destroyer, but at the same time, will have some of the characteristics of trek 2000? IN the arcade version of trek 2000, you also have 4 ships you can command: Yorktown, defiant, enterprise. Sorry I can't remember the other one's name. The galaxy is also 100 by 100. When the game starts you get a menu of the 4 ships and you just choose the one you would like to command. Then you move your ship with your 4 arrow keys. Like in trek 2000, you can do a scan for enemy ships in your vicinity. You also have the 3 scan types: short range, long range and navigational. Short range also takes less energy and long range takes more energy. So you press the letter s and you choose the scan option from the menu. Then you will get information in coordinates about the ships that are in your vicinity. This arcade game does not work in cumpus bearings or degrees, it only works with coordinates. So if you hear that there's an enemy ship at coordinate 33 33 and you move to that coordinate with your arrows, you will be very close to the enemy ship. Like in dark destroyer, you also shoot the ships by using spacebar. Like in dark destroyer, you will also have a radar that will make a sound if you get very close to anenemy ship. The enemy ships in this arcade game are also called clingons and romulans. I can't remember if there's a third type of enemy ship. Like in trek 2000 you also have different weapons like photons, etc. Irregardless of the weapon you use you always perform shooting with spacebar. Certain weapons will only work on certain types of enemy ships. I can't remember if this was the case in trek 2000. If you want to command a different ship, you press I and choose your ship from the menu. Also, like in trek 2000, certain enemies can only fight certain ships. Like in dark destroyer, it will require more than one hit to destroy a ship. ON the higher difficulty levels, it will require more hits to destroya ship than on the lower difficulty levels. The arcade trek 2000 will also have 5 difficulty levels; on the last 3 difficulty levels you will also have the dooms day machine if you destroyed all enemy ships. Think of it as the boss ship in dark destroyer, just much tougher. I think that I'm not the only gamer who battles with this angle, degree, strategy type of game. I'm sure there are other gamers which will enjoy a version of trek 2000 that works like dark destroyer but have the characteristics of trek 2000. O Yes and you also have a mine with which to destroy all enemies in its vicinity. . Press m in the game and you will get 2 choices: self destruct or 7 spaces. You can use self destruct if there's no chance of surviving but you want to take the attacking enemy with you when you die. If you choose 7 spaces the mine will detonate within a range of 7 coordinate spaces from you so move away with your ship immediately when you have activated the 7 spaces option. Be careful, if your mine is near one of your star bases, it can destroy that star base, so make sure if you use your mine that it is not near one of your star bases. Each time you press an arrow key you move one space in that direction. Like in dark destroyer, you won't hear your ship moving. Like in trek 2000, you only have one mine, so use it wisely. Like in trek 2000, you have 4 star bases to replenish your energy. If you scan for a ship and the star base is in your vicinity, depending on the type of scan you use, you will get the coordinates of your star bases. You will get a list of all ships in your vicinity. Move with arrows in the list. You can press enter to go to that ship. You have to move with your ship. Its only a list showing you the ships detected by the scan and the coordinate of each. If a star base cannot be detected by a short scan and you have too little energy for your long scan, calmly move your ship until you hear your star base. If you get within 1 space from your star base it will automatically detect if your energy is near depletion and will replenish your energy automatically. If your energy is completely depleted your ship won't be able to move anywhere. You can press p to find out how much percentage of energy your ship has left. Make sure that an enemy ship won't detect you near your star base; an enemy ship will start destroying your star base if it detects you near your star base. It won't look for the star base, but if it detects you near a star base it will start destroying it. AT First the enemy ship will have a tough time trying to destroy your star base, but the star base will never be able to destroy the enemy ship; it will just make it a bit difficult for the enemy ship, but after a while the enemy ship will succeed in destroying the star base.
