Yep, landing took me a couple of goes too.
with the demons you need to shoot them with energy bolts, however they can
fire a longer range than you. When you hear one coming, use your shield when
they fire, and try to get close enough where you can blast them. Remember,
your ultimate goal is still to land on each house and deliver your gifts,
and the demons will keep coming so destroying them is just a way to get them
out of your hair. Also, whenever you successfully delivery a gift, ie, give
the right emotion to the right house, you regain energy, which can be really
handy in a pinch.
