Hi Sylvester.
glad your getting into the Ensign.
the percentage is the weapon's durability. So long as it is greater than
zero the weapon will do it's normal damage, however each time you use it the
percentage will go down. When it hits zero, all weapons (even rifles and
laser guns), will do only 1 damage, that is the point you have to replace
them.
At the swamp you can store items, (there is an option), this is particularly
useful at the start of the game for making sure you always have a steel
sword in reserve and for storing resources like flesh, teeth and eyes (who's
use you will find out later).
You can also talk to the general, which lets you view several cutscenes
about the wanderer invasion, and also lets you do something special after
one particular event, though I won't say anymore of that but let you
discover it yourself.
One thing I do like about The Ensign is because weapons have a durability,
you keep needing to visit dungeons, also there are a lot more different
events and encounters even in lower level dungeons like Houses, which keep
the game interesting even when you have the convoy, just remember, you still
need to eat and drink, and that even though you might be carrying an
arsenal of weapons you aren't invincible, especially if you don't replenish
your weapons (I nearly lost out myself when playing at four in the morning
an forgetting to go and gather supplies).
Enjoy the ending!
All the best,
Dark.

Subject: [Audyssey] The Ensign game questions
Greetings Gamers!
had a few qquestions for those playing The Ensign game.
Not sure any thing I will ask will go into spoiler teratory but just
in case you have been warned.
First can you store collected items back at the Swamp?or better yet
what is the swamps purpose?
I have a convoy now so have tons of space, but
I have 3 Knives, and 2 steel swords I am holding on to but wondered
do I need to hold on to more than one weapon? Is there any thing to
be gained by doing this?
Also I wondered about the percentage that is given to the weapons, I
noticed of course the higher the more damage it does but how do you
build it back up?
I am on a roll and think I am getting close to finding, well I better
leave it at that, don't want to spoil any elements of the game for any
one.
Well Thanks for reading. Sly
