The first gemstone is in the first Silver Crest adventure, but it can be easy to miss. When you get to Fulbrak's farm, you have the choice of exploring the pasture or exploring the woods. Explore the woods to find the monster's nest. Kill the monster and reach into the nest. Again, it can be quite easy to miss that one since a lot of people tend to just explore the pasture.
