thats all and good as long as you are prepaired to offer keys or a sertain
number of keys per month etc free or have some scheme.
I do aggree with tom that I'd rather pirate than pay more than the product cost
just to get another licence, that really drives me away.
i personally don't know what I would do if this did happen.
Is there anything legal I can actually do if this does actually happen.
I've been happy to just not bother but with all the crack down on torrentsites
and the like as well as all the other things around I now wander what a
consumer can actually do if they come over this sort of thing.
I'm not against hardware activations or activations of any kind as long as they
work properly and don't change because of say a software driver update or
firmware update to hardware or software, or not work for an unknown reason or
cost a load of extra cash to replace.
This applies to all things really, oh and you can reply offlist if it starts
going a bit ot.
I would be interested to know what I could do.
I wander if I can buy a number of licences for things or get some ensurance for
the life of the actual os or for a sertain number of years and pay a little
extra up front, I'd probably be happy to do that.
I've been lucky and its fair to say most don't probably have or won't probably
have that issue.
I know on xp related things I can install the software on to as many systems as
I want with the same key as long as the system I have loaded is the only system
thats using the licence on at the current time as i have done this with office
a few times when my laptop was giving me hell and I had to get a second one
when repairs were done and then get another replaced.
Another thing i wander is what I do if I have a dead laptop, and I still have
the recovery cd with the product key and actual software or just the actual key
only I know these things can be linked to another oem serial of a laptop but I
now have a useless code for xp home which I can't activate which I have tried.
