Take a company like b s c games. They use w s r e g to process money orders, so for Justin it isn't that extra trouble to get a driver to take him to cash the money order. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Thomas Ward Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2008 4:28 AM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: [Audyssey] Money Orders was piracy of judgment day
Hi Constantine, Quote 1. In future, can devs please make money order possible (or does this cost)? End quote Well, it is more a major inconvenience to the developer than anything else, but yes using money orders does cost more in the long run. Using Paypal.com to process electronic checks, direct deposits, and credit card transactions is a whole lot cheaper and easier than handling a money order. Let's compare these two methods below. 1. Game developer x accepts money orders. He/she has to wait a week or more to recieve your payment by snale mail. After it arrives the developer must get a cab, bus, friend, or family member to drive him/her to a place to cash the money order. After cashing it he or she must get a ride to his/her bank to deposit your payment. Come home and send out your sales recete and product key. 2. Game developer x uses Paypal.com for recieving your money. Customer decides to pay using electronic check, direct deposit, or instant credit card checkout. The next time game developer x checks his/her email the developer will see a payment notice from Paypal.com from customer x. Developer x processes the order using the information in the email, sends the customer his/her sales recete, and is done. Given the two methods above which would you honestly pick? If you said Paypal.com you are talking some sense. With the money order method there is all kinds of costs you haven't thought about such as paying a driver to take the blind developer to cash that money order. You probably haven't thought about the turn around for each and every order done via money order. Rather than processing transactions in a few hours the time required for each transaction now becomes days. That is bad for the customer and the developer both. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org.
