One more item, if you read down in the file, there's the suggestion from
Michael Feir, and under that is where I removed the # signs from.

Hi

What I've done and since it's been awhile from hacking is removed all the
number signs [#] from the lines in the defaults.nh file. This does use asky
symbols. What I've noticed and maybe someone else knows is that they do
seem different from the ones that I recall being in the game a few versions
back. Currently it's version 3.4.3 I believe. It's possible there's
something else one needs to do. Having said that though the game is
playable with jfw. There's always the 'look' command to help one out.

I had hoped that this was the case. But I seem to remember downloading
Nethack and JFW couldn't read the screen correctly. Has this changed?
