Hi Ron. well, I personally don't mind a slow game, but by the time I'd examined the screen with Hal's vf, worked out where I was and what's going on, often with reference to the docs to remember what the blasted symbols mean, then looked at the command list (and possibly the players handbook), to try and decide what I was doing, a long time had passed. i'll frankly admit this got on my nerves.
It's a shame someone couldn't make a basic nethack esque game, ---- possibly even a nethack modification, where all you do is wander around the dungeon, fighting monsters, picking up weapons which are auto equipped, and healing yourself at specific locations, just so that we could practice screen readers and aski graphics. I've seen a few around the net, but unfortunately their not as modifyable as nethack, and are usually doss games so run very badly in windows xp which is a shame. Beware the Grue!
