As in a lot of the games, the demo only scratches the surface.  Have you 
tried either Lone Wolf or Shades of Doom from

www.gmagames.com

yet?  The demos are cool, and the full games are far better than the demos. 
Sarah and the Castle of Witchcraft and Wizardry, from

www.pcsgames.net

is also a good game with a good demo to try.
