Yeah, that was my bad, I meant to say win rar is the only one I know of that extracts rar files. I'm mostly looking for an archive utility that will extract rar files but not overright the basic winzip functionality, as I need that for unzipping certain archives that so far, most archiving utilities consider corrupt.

I beg to differ with you. There are several programs that will open rar files besides Winrar. There are free programs like Izarc and Unrar as well as your commercial programs like Winzip that will open rar files. You really need to be careful about blanket statements like, "only Winrar will open rar files," because it simply isn't true.
