well dark I was worried that my main system would die I had some cds but these 
were out of date, in fact the last cd I made was in 07.
Most stuff is to big to backup to cd now anyway.

the issue with the drive took about 2 months to find out it was actually dead 
then another 3 months to find replacement drives.
nerve racking I tell you, though little chance of everything dieing unless we 
have a stove blow, a fire, earthquake or other issue, or the house get hit by 
lightning.
