Re: fleet deployment, Zach is right about the custom highlight assign (jfw term). This provided some more specific information, even reading the columns, at least the numbers in them when you arrow over them.

In order to send a fleet to a planet, you have to use the fleet/deploy command. You will be presented with the list of available fleets at your current location. Once you've selected the proper fleet, you hit enter, then use your arrow keys to move to the desired target world to send the fleet on its way. For instance, if you're sending a fleet from your capital world at 0,0 to a world at -3,2, you will have to hit your left arrow three times and your up arrow twice, then hit enter. Depending on the composition of the fleet, it will take one or three turns to arrive, until which time you won't have any attack options at the target worlds.
