Hi Lori,
I think an important aspect of on-line team play is to be able to communicate either by a menu of stock phrases, using SAPI text messages as my example illustrates, or by voice, which would be the most realistic and easy to use. This method would require all the players to have microphones and possibly headsets with microphones before playing. You should also be able to share ammo weapons and such with your teammates, and be able to explore different parts of a level rather than staying together as in the battle I imagined. There should also be a sound to indicate that you are pointing your weapon at a team member and not a monster. But as in real life if one of your team decides to start killing you, you should be able to fight back.

Phil

Sounds great, but as things can sometimes get quite noisey then how do you
stop you from hitting one of your own group? I suppose you could also give
one of your group a medical kit if they iether don't have one or else take
one from then if they can afford it. Also I know David isn't keen for ideas
right now but I think it would be good if you could message online players
like you can in some online games. "Sorry for shooting you"
