Yep, I did that, but all that happened was me jumping up and down, I think! I managed to pull the lever okay, but I'm still stuck on how to get past the rope and thus past the dead end message a little ways further on in the level ... it's probably something really obvious, but after reading the manual again and looking in the game help I can't figure out where I'm going wrong at. It doesn't sound like the rope is swinging, so I'm trying to center it in my headphones and jump up to grab it, but I'm not getting anywhere. I'm hoping this is on topic for the list and that no one minds reading a beginning player's messages! So far I like the game, now I just have to figure out how to play it!

To start climbing or jumping, the controll key needs to be held down. Otherwise the game assume's your runing down stairs or up stairs.

Hi all.

I'm going through the demo of this and I can't get the hang of the ladders and ropes, at least I think that's what they are. When you first enter the game and walk a little ways it sounds like there's a ladder in front of you, but when I press the up arrow to climb it the game just sits there. I have Jaws turned off and I've even tried hitting the K key on the keypad in case the arrow keys just don't work that way. Same thing with the rope that's further on in the level. Anyone have anything to suggest, or am I totally missing something here?

Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Thoughts About Healing Potions

Hi Charles,
That's basicly what i was thinking of. Any time I take some kind of
medication I have to wait a few minutes for it to begin taking effect.
I would think healing potions would similarly have to take some amount
of time to take effect. It could be something as short as a minute or
two for game time, but the basic idea is that you won't drink it down
and magically be restored to full health. Especially, considering
Angela gets stabbed with daggers and swords, hit with lightning bolts,
shot with arrows, etc and those kinds of wounds won't heal instantly
no matter what you use.
Also this may force you to rethink your game strategy. If you are
getting killed in battle you might have to retreat from the battle,
hide somewhere, and drink a potion and wait until your health is
restored enough to jump back into the fight. That gets rid of those
battles where you are getting pounded, drink apotion, and keep right
on fighting. Nobody can do that in real life.
