When I bought my IPhone, I was so excited. There would be all these
aps at my fingertips, from the completely necessary like barcode
scanning and GPS to completely insane, but I guess I was seeing too
much novelty in it. One thing you have to remember too, is that as
much as it would be nice to buy a Braille display to use with the
IPhone, they're not exactly what most people would call affordable.
The IPhone itself costs $300. Tack on the cost of a Braille display
which is most likely $2000 or so (maybe $1000 if I feel like giving
the companies the benefit of the doubt) and you have yourself quite an
expensive investment. Maybe not quite as expensive as a note taker,
but a little much for me when it wasn't really what I wanted anyway.
To get back to the gaming aspect of it though, suppose you did have a
Braille display, or a bluetooth keyboard which I avoided mentioning
because I've heard more than one person say they're unreliable, you
would still have to use the touch screen to access the games, correct?
The games would be controlled with tapping and gestures, and keyboard
input wouldn't be built into the game. So you would still have to
learn the sheer ridiculous amount of gestures to even have a gaming
experience.
