As Michele already mentioned, it is not technically a bug, so it shouldn't
go into the 2.9 series. Tentatively targeting for 2.10, which is at release
candidate stage, so might be open for such changes; Thomas will have to
decide. Otherwise it will go to 2.11 which only recently forked off from
master.
