sorry that i didn't reply to this earlier.  the isp that i'm using right
now (in se asia) went south for the last week or so.  i just got back
on-line.  i'm returning to the united states tomorrow.

as far as the host_dmax code... i would recommend adding the code to CVS
and having the developers test it before we release it.  you write great
code but we need to see if it compiles and behaves on all the oses we
support.

the host dmax feature will be a nice addition... if we can quickly try
it out.. we can add it to the 2.5.6 release... otherwise it will be part
of 2.5.7.

it'll take me a few days to get settled when i return to the states. 
once i get back ... i'll have a lot to more to talk about.
