BTW, I also managed to place the EXTRA_DATA DESC text in the <img
title> field of the graph -- this will provide a "free" tooltip with
the longer description of the metric when you hover on the graphs.
However there seems to be a character limit (don't know off hand what
it is) and the longer descriptions from the cpu metrics got truncated.

I think this is good enough for now -- thoughts?
