true, just like the gmond default port selection or the choice of default
multicast address, and I am sad also to see it go.

release names are more commonly seen in big development projects with long
release cycles (like distributions) and that usually can dedicate the time
to come out with some long scheme of choosing one (including votes, polls
or email discussions) or where someone (usually the release person)
arbitrarily choses them on each release (like the linux kernel), and it
wouldn't be a problem at all if we would just update them as soon as the
release is done and the next development cycle is started (together with
updating the version number) and as explained by our documented release
process.

including me, even if I'd remember some comment about it being tied to some
sort of aviation theme but I don't recall the specifics.
