The more I think about it, the more I suspect it won't be Meyer's decision, at least not entirely.
Quotes like "I PLAN to be the Gators' coach" are not the same as "I WILL be the coach of the Gators." Also, comments like "I will work to keep this thing going" are less than clear as to what his role will be in keeping it going. I think he has issues to work out with doctors and his family, and it isn't clear which way things will turn. My hope for him is that he can work out his medical and family issues, and be back at the job he loves. I certainly hope he still loves the job. If he doesn't, then there really is no point in continuing, and I think he will be looking for a graceful way out. Go Gators!!!! Ken B. I have heard a lot of speculation about his future ranging from “Last night was his farewell game” to “He will be back by Spring Practice.” Since speculation has become a national sport, I will give my “crystal ball” moment. I think Urban Meyer might take a very brief family vacation (a week or so) and then I think he will check into Shands for surgery to remove the brain cyst. Following the surgery he will rehab whatever heart issues he may have. If his heart problems are really stress related, I suspect that he will significantly increase his exercise regiment to get the stress under control. If there is a surgical solution, I think he will do that. I expect that he will be back full time by Fall practice.
