Keith, Mea culpa - I missed, until later, the fact that you were commenting on only the earlier games.
That being said, there were a lot of things that kept us from starting out of the gate the way that we played in game four. One person may call those things reasons, another may call them excuses. Nine months of lifting weights together and players getting together on their own to throw the ball around and run wind sprints don't do a lot for cohesion - there's only a limited time to get that done. I have no way of knowing this - it may be pure pollyanna sunshine pumping, but there's a chance that our coaches didn't rush to bring the team along any quicker because they knew they didn't have to. I'm sure they weren't any happier than we were with how sloppy it got, but maybe, just maybe, there was a game looming on that schedule that they'd been pointing to all off season...
