Isn't anyone else slightly uneasy about a gay film written by a woman
and starring two straight (correct me if I am wrong)actors?

I haven't seen it and expect that I am wrong. But anything so hyped I
often find is a dissappointment.

From the common sense angle, any work of art which portrays
homosexuality in a positive light gets my vote.

I am terrible. I thought it was called Bareback Mountain with sexual
connotations

I take it that you are not Transgendered..

But the universality of an idea is exposed when the idea 'transcend' base individual or sectarian material realities such as those you have mentioned..

The movie you have outlined can be readily found on gay web cams, at gay cruising sites and in gay porno films...but none of those 'art' forms seem to have been accepted anywhere in the dominant culture as being worthy of universal introspection and acceptance..
