Its not everyday I reply to myself but circumstances merit so bear with me.
Since I posted the above I've been contacted by Geoff Phillips of GSS
regarding the initial information we received on the GB-1000 retrofit.
While the original information conveyed the impression that continued
support for the GB-1000 was conditional on the retrofit it is a relief to
know that this is not the case, and the retrofit does not appear to be ploy
to push upgrading to the GB-1200 - which was again my impression from the
original information.

It would have been nice however to have the retrofit covered by maintenance
agreement, but there are many ideal things in the world that never happen
and life goes on.
