Hi Jerry, I can't answer that question. There is a new binutils release on its way, but as you know 1.5 is dead, and I don't know if it'll be released for 1.5. You definitely can download binutils CVS and build and install it yourself on 1.5, and it'll all work for you, so you aren't stuck, no matter what happens. But you shouldn't really be wasting time trying to make gcc HEAD work on an old and outdated version of the cygwin DLL; it's not guaranteed and it will never be supported. 1.7 does actually work very well, and since you're doing GCC development you really want to move up; we're not going to go to great lengths to keep backward compatibility with obsolete versions. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=40455
