I tried it yesterday, after updating with SVN and updating my 1.7 cygwin, and got the same failure. It seems to me that he is saying that we have to wait a few days for the new binutils to make it into cygwin. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=40455
