I agree, in principle. However, sorry, I don't feel like doing that,
it's a non trivial change, because *anything* related to the atomic
builtins is non-trivial. So... If you volunteer to do that, patches
welcome, you can count on my to thorough and promptly review and help,
I'll look into it over the weekend.
