As for "costs" in terms of compile time/space and output size, you should definitely present some preliminary data please. For example, the time/space for a plain bootstrap with vs. without the vta patches applied. Then another one with "-g" vs "-g0" vs whatever corresponds to "full vta" - local variable debuginfo. As for "benefits", you could give some gdb (or systemtap :-) session transcripts that show the new data being used. - FChE
