No! The gcc45 fink packaging that I prepared using my proposed patch
can be used to compile dragon-egg svn on darwin. Both I and Peter O'Gorman
have been using dragon-egg with gcc 4.5.0 on darwin and it works fine. I don't
understand why everyone insists that plugins can not (and apparently must not)
run on darwin.

Don't other targets (AIX?) lack objdump in their default configuration?
My patch was an attempt to as general as possible (and not resort
darwin specific tools to look for exported symbols in the absence
of objdump).
